Seven universities promoting nursing education, including Saga University and Kobe University, have entered into a joint research agreement to develop nursing education content using the Metaverse. We will provide a place where nursing students and current nurses can learn the latest medical information at any time.
According to Saga University, the contract will be signed with Saga University, Kobe University, as well as the National College of Nursing, Kanagawa Prefectural University of Health and Welfare, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Senri Kinran University, and Kansai Fukushi University.
The joint research team includes Professor Chieko Suzuki of Saga University School of Medicine, Akiko Williamson, Deputy Director of Nursing at Kobe University Hospital, Professor Kohei Tanaka of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Tokyo University of Technology, Associate Professor Mio Kikuhara of the Faculty of Nursing, Kansai Fukushi University, and the National Nursing Institute. University professor Noriko Honma and others will participate.
Nursing work requires nursing care tailored to the location and situation, even under various difficult situations such as during large-scale disasters. For this reason, there is a need for a place for learning regardless of time or place, but there are not many places where this can be achieved.
The joint research team plans to develop content for nursing education using the metaverse and operate it as a learning platform for nursing students and practicing nurses.
