For the first time, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has overtaken Harvard University to take the top spot in terms of the number of highly cited researchers who have written multiple papers in the past 1 years that have been cited in the top 10% of papers by other papers. This was revealed by research by British research firm Clarivate.In terms of countries, the United States still holds the lead over China, but the battle for supremacy between the United States and China is becoming more intense in the world of science as well.
