Japan Women's University has signed an interuniversity agreement regarding student exchange with Tamkang University, the oldest private comprehensive university in Taiwan. Students from the Faculty of Home Economics at Japan Women's University have been studying together with students from Tamkang University through the ``International Housing Workshop,'' an overseas short-term training program, and Japan Women's University has expanded this into an inter-university agreement that will cover the entire university. The idea is to lead to study abroad exchanges and teacher exchanges.
According to Japan Women's University, Tamkang University is a private university located in Tamkang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Its predecessor was Tamkang English College, which was founded in 1950, and became Tamkang University in 1980. It has the oldest history as a private higher education institution. There are eight faculties, including the Faculty of Letters, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Innovative Artificial Intelligence, and Faculty of Precision Medicine and Health Management, with approximately 8 students enrolled.
Japan Women's University President Satoko Shinohara said, ``We have deepened our friendship with Tamkang University through the International Housing Workshop, which has been held continuously since 2006.With the signing of this agreement, exchanges between students and faculty members will be enhanced. We look forward to further progress in our joint research."
