Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology has put together a plan to establish a Graduate School of Advanced Interdisciplinary Sciences (master's program) at its graduate school, where students will learn interdisciplinary advanced science based on agriculture and engineering to solve the problems of modern society. The idea is to establish it from 2025, and we are considering establishing four courses, including predictive informatics.

According to Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, the Graduate School of Advanced Interdisciplinary Sciences has an admission capacity of 99 students. The Graduate School of Biological Systems and Applied Sciences will be reorganized in a progressive manner. In addition to predictive informatics, courses will be offered in resource and energy science, health and welfare science, and food and environmental science. The plan is to establish a doctoral course in 2027 as students progress through their academic years.

If the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology approves its establishment, the 2025 entrance exam for the Graduate School of Biosystems and Applied Sciences will not be held, but the entrance exam for the Graduate School of Advanced Interdisciplinary Sciences will be held. The entrance examination for the doctoral program for the Department of Biofunctional Systems Science, the third-year transfer examination for the Department of Food and Energy Systems Science, and the entrance examination for the Joint Department of Advanced Health Sciences will be held as usual.

Interdisciplinary research that goes beyond traditional academic frameworks is essential to solving the various social issues that occur in modern society. With the rapid development of digital technology, Japan's international competitiveness in the digital field is declining, and companies are increasingly demanding human resources who can take on the responsibility of a digital society and solve problems with interdisciplinary thinking.

In response to these voices, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology is seeking human resources who can take on the challenge of solving social issues, creating knowledge, and creating innovation by fusing measurement science, computational science, and data science through interdisciplinary research based on agriculture and engineering. Grow.
