・The “High Grant” is granted by adding a certain amount to universities that have plans that are expected to have extremely high effects in terms of scale and quality, such as collaboration with top overseas universities and promotion of initiatives that will greatly contribute to regional and national industrial development. 　If the system is to be strengthened at the undergraduate level in addition to the graduate school level, it is possible for the undergraduate level to take precedence over the graduate school level, so an increase in the undergraduate enrollment capacity is also permitted.

　Additionally, Waseda University's School of Fundamental Science and Engineering will reform its undergraduate entrance examination system, reorganizing the current three academic systems into four academic systems. It has been decided that the 3 students enrolled in the Engineering Department (Department II) will be divided into 4 students in the Department 350 (Engineering Department) and 2 students in the Department 235 (Information Department), increasing the proportion of admission capacity for the Information Department.

　In this way, many private universities are establishing or reorganizing information-related undergraduate departments, and the number of admissions for information-related departments is expected to increase significantly in the 2024 entrance exams, following the 2025 academic year. If the number of high school students who apply does not increase, it is predicted that the number of undergraduate departments with low rates will increase.
