Mukogawa Women's University will open its 2025th faculty, the Faculty of Environmental Symbiosis, in April 4 (planning is currently underway). It has been selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's ``University/Technical College Functional Strengthening Support Project,'' which supports the strengthening of university functions through conversion to science majors, and is capable of contributing to society with new ideas that are not bound by the framework of the arts and sciences, as well as developing female human resources in the sciences. Develop human resources.

In order to improve the current state of crisis, such as greenhouse gas emissions, abnormal weather, ocean pollution, and soil pollution, and to protect a sustainable global environment and the future of humanity, we need scientific knowledge that correctly understands the current state of humans and nature. Flexible thinking and the ability to take action are required to ask questions about any situation. There is a need for ambitious human resources who can create breakthroughs with new ideas, including in the expanding field of green (energy and environment), and the rise of women in particular is expected.

The ``Faculty of Environmental and Symbiosis'', which is planned to be established based on this social background, has an enrollment capacity of 120 students (capacity: 480). Three areas: "Environmental conservation," which concerns rivers, oceans, air, and water quality; "Environmental symbiosis," which concerns geology, satoyama, and biodiversity; and "Environmental resource application," which concerns the utilization of earth's resources such as microorganisms, genes, and minerals. Students can freely choose subjects from the list and acquire knowledge and skills through small-group projects. Faculty members include experts in various fields who cover a variety of specialized fields. A faculty member will be assigned to each project to support the selection of specialized subjects.

In order to gain first-hand experience of global issues, we place emphasis on fieldwork, and although our main campus is Hamakoshien Campus, we also have facilities such as Mukogawa Women's University's Tanrei Gakuen Training Center (Kita Ward, Kobe City) and Nashio Outdoor Activity Center (Nishinomiya City). ), and sometimes utilizes the American branch school in Washington State, USA. We will also deepen ties with the local community through collaboration between industry, government, and academia. By leveraging the strengths of a comprehensive university, we aim to create synergistic effects by collaborating with diverse faculties such as health, food, psychology, medicine, architecture, and management.
