In the experiment, participants were shown images of Japanese women wearing clothes (standard stimulus) and images of various body shapes wearing gray zentai (comparative stimulus) based on the database of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. I presented them in pairs and asked them to decide which one looked slimmer.As a result of the experiment, it was concluded that the black clothes look 3.1 cm thinner with "black / tuck-in" than the white clothes with "white / tuck-in", and the legs look 7 cm longer just by tucking in. ..
Until now, clothes coordination that improves the appearance of body shape has little objectivity or science, and there is no choice but to rely on the manufacturer's advertisements, one's senses, and intuition.Therefore, the research group of Professor Morikawa and others has developed a technology to scientifically measure how many centimeters the appearance of the body looks different depending on the clothes by combining the experimental method of psychophysics and strict 3D computer graphics.It has become possible to provide scientific evidence and quantitative support for clothes that have a slimming effect and clothes that make the legs look longer.In addition, it will be possible to scientifically develop effective fashion based on these findings, and it is expected that it may revolutionize the fashion industry.
