According to a survey by Associate Professor Jun Aida of the Graduate School of Dentistry, Tohoku University, the smoking rate of heat-not-burn tobacco, which continues to spread rapidly, is high among young people and high-income earners.The research team believes that the spread of heat-not-burn tobacco may prevent smoking rates from declining, and there is a need for regulatory policies that take into account the attributes of smokers.
According to Tohoku University, previous studies have reported low smoking rates among young people and high-income earners, but there have been few cases of examining the characteristics of heat-not-burn tobacco smokers.So the research team analyzed the ages and incomes of a total of 2017 men and women who responded to a 4,926 web survey on smoking.
その結果、対象者のうち、非喫煙者は全体の82.8％を占める4,077人、紙巻きたばこのみの喫煙者は14.2％の700人、加熱式たばこ喫煙者は3.0％の149人だった。これを年齢で分析すると、加熱式たばこは男性で20代が60代の7.90倍、女性で9.28倍喫煙していることが分かった。
