From the spring semester of 2021, Chuo University will systematically cover the field of AI and data science from literacy to the basic level of application for all undergraduate students (about 2021 including the enrollment capacity of 6,281 in 2) regardless of literacy. Started the "AI / Data Science University-wide Program" to study.In addition, students who wish to acquire skills such as programming languages and practice subjects to study in groups will be prepared.
Chuo University, which has eight faculties in both humanities and science, has provided lectures in the field of data science in each faculty. The AI / Data Science Center was established in April 2020, and while taking into account policy trends and social needs, we have been studying programs that take advantage of the characteristics of the university, leading to the establishment of this program.
According to Chuo University, this program features "implementation for all faculties (inter-faculty fellowship)" and "systematic learning from literacy to applied basics".The literacy course "AI / Data Science and Modern Society", which is an introductory education, is a course that is accredited as a graduation credit.In addition, we aim to raise interest in the field through the "AI / Data Science Comprehensive" course, which focuses on case studies of practitioners in each field.Furthermore, for motivated students, by preparing practical exercises such as programming languages, we have created a system for systematically learning up to the applied basic level. In the 2nd to 4th year seminars, we will develop human resources who have acquired basic skills regardless of the field by studying the AI / data science field while working hard beyond the boundaries of the faculties and grades.
