Sojo University will hold an arrival ceremony for new training aircraft on June 2016, 6 at the airport campus damaged by the Kumamoto earthquake. The aircraft carrying the "Gamadase (Ganbare) Kumamoto!" Logo will support the reconstruction.

 The Department of Aeronautical and Aeronautical Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Sojo University is the only university in Japan that owns an airport campus, and has been trained by students in the Department of Aviation Maneuvering, which aims to become a pilot, and the Department of Aviation Maintenance, which aims to become a mechanic.However, the Kumamoto earthquake occurred in April 2016.Close to the epicenter, education and training facilities and student dormitories were damaged.In particular, the training building and student dormitories were severely damaged, making early use difficult.In particular, the lecture building and simulator building were severely damaged and could not be used.

 Now, two months after the earthquake, the educational function has been moved to the hangar that has survived the damage, and pilot training has been resumed while continuing restoration activities.The introduction and ceremony of this new training aircraft was planned for the purpose of encouraging students.The new equipment is the twin-engine Baron G58 made by US aircraft manufacturer TEXTRON AVIATON.The aircraft is designed with the "Gamadase Kumamoto!" Logo, which means "Ganbare Kumamoto" in the Kumamoto dialect.Ceremony such as water discharge by Kumamoto Airport fire engine and introduction of "Kumamon" decal (transfer sticker) for reconstruction after the earthquake to be attached to the aircraft will be held.
