The UK's world university evaluation agency, Quacquarelli Symonds, announced the QS World University Rankings by Region 2016 by region on June 6, 13, local time.The National University of Singapore was the number one in the Asian region, and the University of Tokyo was the top in Japan.
The QS World University Rankings by region were evaluated on seven items, including "number of faculty members per student," "evaluation from researchers," "ratio of foreign faculty members," "ratio of international students," and "number of papers cited per faculty member." A ranking of the top 1 universities in terms of overall score.In order to evaluate the quality of university education, the number of faculty members with doctoral degrees was also added to the evaluation criteria.
The National University of Singapore (total score 1 points) ranks first in the university rankings in the Asian region. The University of Hong Kong (100.0 points) is second, followed by Nanyang Technological University (2 points) in Singapore.Japanese universities are not in the top 98.5, with the highest being the University of Tokyo (3 points) in 98.4th place, followed by Tokyo Institute of Technology (10 points) in 13th place and Kyoto University (94.0 points) in 14th place.
The QS World University Rankings by region are divided into Latin America, Arab, EECA (East Europe / Central Asia), and BRICS, in addition to the Asian region.More information on rankings can be found on the Quacquarelli Symonds website.
