Kyoto University of Foreign Studies holds a crime prevention seminar for students, "Election Violations You Should Know as a College Student-Thinking about the Age of 18-year-old Election Rights".Through the introduction of banned cases of election campaigns, I deepened my knowledge of election violations.

On June 2016, 6, the revised Public Offices Election Law came into effect, enabling voting and election campaigns for men and women over the age of 19. On July 18, 2016, the voting and counting of votes for the 7th House of Councilors election will be held.By lowering the voting age from "10 years old and over" to "24 years old and over", all students except foreign students will have the right to vote at the university. This is expected to increase the number of young people who are actively involved in politics, but on the other hand, there is concern that they will be involved in election violations such as acquisitions and offerings.

This crime prevention seminar is held with the aim of encouraging students to acquire legal knowledge and prevent them from being involved in election violations. In April 2016, Takuya Kakinuma, a lawyer hired as an employee of the university, introduced cases related to past election violations and explained in an easy-to-understand manner what is being accused of election violations.
