In order to promote technological development that is useful for national security, 10 projects such as Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and Tokyo University of Science were selected as the recipients of research funds for military use, which were publicly solicited by the Ministry of Defense.There were 44 applications from universities, private companies, and research institutes, and the gate was more than four times narrower.I signed a contract this fall and started research.
According to the Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency, 5 universities, 2 private companies, and 3 research institutes have been paid.
The main research contents are as follows.
■ Porous nanoparticle aggregate with adsorptive ability and catalytic activity for hydrolysis reaction (Osaka City University)
■ Development of fail-safe thermoelectric batteries using thermoelectric materials that are lightweight and have a low environmental load (Tokyo University of Science)
■ Tactile / force presentation by ultra-multi-degree-of-freedom mesh robot (Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology)
■ Elucidation of the mechanism of the frictional resistance reduction effect of ships (Hokkaido University)
■ Improved durability of metal surface by ultra-high temperature and high pressure treatment (Yamaguchi Tokyo University of Science)
■ Reduction of frictional resistance of moving objects in water with a coating film that can hold the air layer in water (National Institute for Materials Science)
■ Development of an antenna that enables efficient and practical electromagnetic communication underwater (NEC)
The research fund is the "Security Technology Research Promotion System".The Ministry of Defense made a public offering from March to May.The research period is within 3 years, and each research will be paid up to a direct cost of 5 to 3 million yen per year.In addition, indirect expenses, which are 1% of direct expenses, will be paid separately.The results will be made public, and researchers will be able to obtain patents and utilize them for consumer use.
