Sanpo Co., Ltd. conducted a questionnaire to investigate how high school teachers perceive the "Professional Vocational University (tentative name)" that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology is institutionalizing for its establishment in 2019.Part of the survey results was published.

 "Professional vocational college" is a new higher education institution that provides practical vocational education with the aim of developing human resources who can be ready to work and become leaders in each growth field such as agriculture, tourism, and IT.In addition to allocating 3 to 4% of graduation credits to practical training, about 5% or more of teachers with more than 4 years of work experience in companies are scheduled to be assigned, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology is aiming to establish it in 2019.

This questionnaire survey was conducted from June 2016th to July 6th, 24, targeting a total of 7 high school career guidance departments, and 15 responses were collected.

 According to the survey, 25% of the respondents who "know the contents" of professional colleges are sluggish.It was found that three-quarters of the responding teachers did not know the contents of the specialized vocational college.In the comparison of pros and cons, support (4%) exceeded disagreement (3%), and the reasons for support were "fitting to the needs of society" and "leading to diversity in career choices", and the reasons for disagreement were "vocational school / I don't feel the need to create a new one because I can handle it at the university. "

 In addition, among the faculty members who answered that they "know well" or "generally know" about the vocational college, 51.2% answered "agree" and 4.7% disagree with the institutionalization. It is thought that knowing leads to an understanding of the necessity.

 In particular, I would like to expect "advanced vocational education" at 67.3%, followed by "employment rate" at 45.7%, and perhaps reflecting the current social situation, tuition fees are low (42.6%) and scholarships. Expectations were also raised for fulfillment (30.2%).

 The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology is planning to announce more detailed information on "Professional College" by early winter 2016.
