Shinshu University has signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with United World College ISAK Japan, a boarding international high school located in Karuizawa Town, Nagano Prefecture.Based on this agreement, Shinshu University Institute for Social Infrastructure has signed a memorandum of cooperation with ISAK Japan and Karuizawa Town.

 According to Shinshu University, ISAK Japan opened in 2014 in Nagakura, Karuizawa, as Japan's first boarding international high school, International School of Asia Karuizawa. In 2016, with the approval of the United World Colleges International Board of Directors, it became the 17th member school in the world and started as ISAK Japan.

 About 200% of the 75 students are foreign nationals and come from 84 countries around the world.As a general rule, all classes are conducted in English, and scholarships are provided to the majority of students to promote unique education in Japan, which aims for true diversity.Most of the graduates go on to overseas universities such as the United States, but about 1% start their own businesses.

 Shinshu University was exploring the possibility of collaboration by regularly exchanging opinions with ISAK Japan in constructing the AI ​​(artificial intelligence) industrial platform promoted by the Institute for Social Infrastructure.In the future, we will collaborate in fields such as education / human resources development and academic research, and focus on enhancing the educational environment in the region and forming and developing a unique local community.
