On February 2020, 2, Kanda University of International Studies and Kanto International High School will hold the first agreement ceremony of a high school-university cooperation agreement in three Southeast Asian languages (Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai).
Southeast Asia, which has achieved remarkable economic development in recent years, is said to become the center of the world economy in place of Japan and Western countries, which have been the centers of economic globalization. However, in Japan, there is a shortage of human resources who are familiar with the languages of Southeast Asia and the culture of the country / region. There is a need for human resources who can understand the feelings of local people by making full use of Southeast Asian languages as well as English and can serve as a bridge with Japan.
Kanto International High School is the only foreign language course in Japan that has six language courses (China, South Korea, Russia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand) spoken in neighboring countries, which is compatible with English education. We are also focusing on education in three Southeast Asian languages: Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Thai. Both schools are high schools to acquire the basics of these initial languages and English at Kanto International High School, and to develop more advanced language proficiency as a double major at Kanda University of International Studies and human resources who are familiar with the economy and society of the country. It was decided to conclude a cooperation agreement.
By concluding a high school connection agreement, the curriculum of both schools will be reorganized, and students who have decided to go on to Kanda University of International Studies will be provided with English learning support at the university and exemption from university courses in the latter half of the third year of high school. Are considering.By providing English learning support from Kanda University of International Studies, students who have decided to go on to higher education can continue to improve their communicative English proficiency. In addition, by exempting students from taking courses, it is possible to eliminate the overlap between the learning content of the three Southeast Asian languages learned at Kanto International High School and the basic learning content learned immediately after entering university. This allows you to take full advantage of learning these languages in advance in high school and keep you motivated to continue learning the same language at university.
Throughout the seven years of Kanda University of International Studies and Kanto International High School, we aim to produce human resources who can play an active role in Southeast Asia by designing a consistent joint curriculum and exchanging faculty and staff at both schools.
