According to a summary by the Labor Administration Research Institute, a private research institute, 1% of companies listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange have left the starting salary for new employees who joined the company in April 70.2 at the same level as in FY2017.  The survey was conducted from late March to April 3, and questionnaires were sent to 4 companies, including 5 companies listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and 1 life insurance companies, newspapers, and publishers of comparable size. 1,904 companies were totaled.

 According to the report, 29.4% of companies raised the starting salary including various allowances excluding commuting allowances after hours to raise their educational background. It decreased by 2016 points from 33.9% in FY4.5.The most common examples of raising are 4 yen for university graduates and 2,500 yen for high school graduates.
Conversely, the percentage of companies that have left their starting salary unchanged is 2016 points higher than the 66.1% in FY4.1.After the reamer shock, the rate of companies that remained unchanged was around 95%, and then gradually declined, but it started to increase again from FY2016, and that trend continues in FY2017.

 The starting salary levels for this survey are 21 yen for university graduates, 868 yen for graduate school graduates, 22 yen for junior college graduates, and 8,046 yen for high school graduates.
