Hiroshima University and Kinko Town, Kagoshima Prefecture have agreed to enter into joint research on the impact on mental health of employees of IT companies in metropolitan areas working in local satellite offices (* 1).There are very few such studies in Japan, and it seems that valuable research results can be obtained in promoting work style reforms and regional revitalization.
According to Hiroshima University, the subject is an IT company employee in a metropolitan area working at a satellite office in Kinko Town, and Professor Toshio Kobayashi of the Graduate School of Health Sciences, Hiroshima University will analyze it.
We will compare and analyze the psychological and physiological load and work efficiency that are affected by stress by comparing and analyzing offices in metropolitan areas and satellite offices in Kinko Town. The research results will be used to create satellite offices suitable for work-life balance and improve rural living.
Kinko Town is located in the western part of the Osumi Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture and has a population of 7,600.Agricultural and livestock industries such as tea and tobacco are flourishing, but the population, which was close to 1970 in 1, is steadily declining. It was adopted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications as a trial satellite office project in 7,000, and is seeking regional revitalization by temporarily attracting IT companies in metropolitan areas.
The satellite office was called "Kamiyama's miracle" because Kamiyama Town, a mountain village in Tokushima Prefecture, promoted the attraction from an early stage and temporarily achieved a social increase in the population.Using this success example as a model, local governments nationwide are embarking on a full-scale attraction.
