On July 2017, 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it would implement an internship support project for Japanese students.The purpose is to foster human resources who will play a leading role in Japan-US relations and to strengthen the Japan-US alliance.It will be operated by Nippon Travel Agency Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) and Japan International Practical Training Association (Minato-ku, Tokyo).
The dispatch destinations are federal parliamentary offices, state parliamentary offices, US government agencies, lawyer offices, think tanks, magazines / newspapers, US companies, etc., which are effective in strengthening the Japan-US alliance and have high transmission power.According to the regulations of the US Department of State, the dispatch destination related to the participant's career will be selected.The decision-making authority for acceptance is the internship destination and cannot be selected by the participants.
The target is university students, graduate students, and those who have graduated from university or graduate school within one year.In addition, TOEIC 1 or above, TOEFL iBT 825 or above, and IELTS 100 or above are guidelines.
Regarding the dispatch period and the number of people recruited, in the long term, about 2017 people will be recruited in about one year from mid-October 10.Even in the medium term, we are recruiting about 1 people in about 3 months from mid-October 2017.In the case of a short term, we are recruiting about 10 people in about 6 months from the beginning of February 8 next year.
The government will support some of the procedure costs for the US dispatch destination, round-trip international air tickets, document arrangement / procedure costs required for visa acquisition, visa fees, and accommodation costs (for details, see the "Application Guidelines" for this project. description).
