Ritsumeikan University Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology Sports and Health Sciences (Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture) and University of Tokyo Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (Meguro-ku, Tokyo) will meet on August 2017, 8 to improve people's health and sports. Concluded a partnership agreement with the aim of contributing to the development of culture.In the future, we will promote the exchange of human and intellectual resources and the utilization of physical resources, develop sports medicine / science and health science research, and widely utilize the results.
The Sports and Health Science Research Center of Ritsumeikan University has been the current name since 2002 after the "Sports and Health Industry Center" established in 2012.Since its establishment as an integrated research center for sports and wellness, it has emphasized industry-academia collaboration and has been engaged in more than 5 contracted and joint research projects in the last five years.There are state-of-the-art equipment indispensable for advanced research, such as MRI dedicated to research, and 150 researchers are enrolled.
The University of Tokyo Research Center for Advanced Sports Science was established in May 2016 and currently has 5 researchers.Based on the academic achievements accumulated at the University of Tokyo, we will bring academic achievements to society by tackling social issues such as extending healthy life expectancy, improving the QOL of people with disabilities, and improving the competitiveness of athletes. I am aiming to give back.
By concluding this collaboration agreement, both universities will promote cross-disciplinary research.We aim to contribute to the realization of a healthy and long-lived society after 2020 by utilizing sports and health science, which has been regarded as specialized knowledge, to improve the health of people.We will also work on human resource development centered on young researchers.
