On October 2017, 10, Ritsumeikan University and the Japan Food Service Association, an industry group that controls the Japanese restaurant industry, and education to develop human resources who can demonstrate practical action in the field of food. A comprehensive agreement was signed for the purpose of implementing the program.This is the first time that the Japan Food Service Association has signed an agreement with a higher education institution.

 The agreement concluded this time promotes industry-academia collaboration in the "Faculty of Food Management" to be opened at Ritsumeikan University Biwako Kusatsu Campus in April 2018 with the aim of producing management human resources with deep education related to food, and promotes industry-academia collaboration in food-related fields. The purpose is to develop human resources who can realize innovation in the university.

 Specifically, we will implement educational programs such as inviting guest speakers in "general lecture subjects" to learn about the current state of the food business, experience in the field, promote academic research related to food services, and develop management human resources in industry. Through such measures, we aim to realize the sophistication of education and research in the food-related field.

 At Ritsumeikan University, we have been working together since the conception stage of the Faculty of Food Management, and with the conclusion of this comprehensive agreement, we have even stronger connections and human resources who can lead to solutions to global issues. We will work on training.
