The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has revised the model core curricula for medicine and dentistry, respectively, which indicate the goals of the clinical skills that medical and dental students should acquire by the time they graduate.In consideration of changes in the environment surrounding medicine and dentistry, such as advances in science and technology, we are revising the qualifications and abilities and reorganizing the learning objectives.

 According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Medical Education Model Core Curriculum is designed to provide the qualities and abilities required of doctors. The content has been changed so that it can be used and used for medical treatment.

 Furthermore, in addition to revising systems related to medical doctor training, national examinations for medical doctors, and consistency with international standards for medical education, the promotion of clinical training involving medical treatment and digitization of documents are included.

 The Dental Education Model Core Curriculum clearly indicates the image of dentists that will be required in the future, and is revised to meet social needs, such as responding to the super-aging society and measures against infectious diseases in dental practice. At the same time, we incorporated the enhancement of clinical practicums that involve medical treatment, and proceeded with the optimization of the total amount of learning objectives.

 This is the fourth revision of both the Medical Education Model Core Curriculum and Dental Education Model Core Curriculum since their formulation in 2001. From 4, an expert panel consisting of academic experts such as university teachers will be held to discuss the revised contents.
