 Showa Women's University has been working on global human resource development for students of the Faculty of Human Sciences in cooperation with the overseas campus "Showa Boston" opened in Boston, USA. In the five-year effort, we introduced multilingualization and numbering in a part of the syllabus in order to improve the international applicability of the curriculum.In order to improve global educational ability, we will actively hire foreign faculty members and faculty members who have obtained a degree from a foreign university, and the ratio will increase from 5% (2012 people) in 21.1 to 43% (2016) in 25.2.  In the curriculum, an English placement test is conducted for all students at the time of admission, and classes are organized by level. In FY2016, the number of students who meet the TOEIC score of 700 or higher among the graduated year students increased from 2013 in 72 to 111 in the Faculty of Human Sciences.

 In addition, we have established a preparatory education system for students to make them aware of studying abroad from the open campus stage. "The number of graduate students who studied abroad with credits while still in school" increased from 2012 in 40 to 2016 in 111.

 In addition, we have developed a short-term intensive program in which foreign students from partner universities in the United States, Asia, Europe, and other countries participate and study in English with Japanese students. From 2013 to 2016, 14 foreign students and 67 Japanese students from 246 countries will participate and develop practical ability to carry out work in a multicultural environment, such as preparing and managing the program in English.
