The Japan Sports Agency is aiming to launch the Japanese version of NCAA, a new organization that controls across universities and competitions, in 2018, but it will also serve as a commander to establish an organization to coordinate sports club activities within the university and improve the power of the university sports brand. According to a survey by the Japan Sports Agency, the introduction of the sports administrator who serves as a member has been delayed.
The survey was conducted from February to March targeting national, public and private universities, including junior colleges nationwide, and of the 2 schools that responded, 3 national, 560 public, and 73 private schools answered that they had an athletic club. The answers from a total of 54 schools were totaled.
According to the report, 53.2 universities, which account for 276% of the total, have organizations that supervise the activities of multiple athletic clubs.Seven other schools answered that they "plan or intend to install" in the future, but the remaining 7% of 45.5 schools had no plans to establish an organization.
Of the 276 universities that have organizations, only 25 are organized directly under the president, and most of them are positioned in the same position as the departments of the universities.Regarding the issues regarding installation, many voiced the difficulty of securing budget and human resources and fostering awareness within the university.

The Japan Sports Agency is seeking to join the preparatory committee with the aim of establishing a Japanese NCAA by the end of 2018.The first meeting of the establishment preparatory committee is scheduled to be held in the summer, and the second meeting is scheduled to be held in the fall, but it seems that the university must also change its consciousness toward the promotion of university sports.
