In April 2024, Musashino University will open Japan's first Faculty of Wellbeing on its Musashino Campus (under construction).Prof. Takashi Maeno of the Keio University Graduate School of System Design and Management, who is a leading expert in well-being research, will serve as the faculty dean.

 Well-being is a concept that expresses being in a good state, that is, being happy in all aspects, including physical, mental, and social aspects.It refers not only to being in good physical condition, but also to being mentally and socially satisfied.

 In order to practice well-being, it is necessary to have sociological and psychological knowledge about well-being for each individual, such as happiness, purpose in life, security, welfare, health, and peace, as well as engineering methods and techniques for creating new creative designs. It is necessary to learn the design method.In the Faculty of Wellbeing, in addition to mastering a wide range of academic fields, we aim to become a wellbeing designer by integrating experiential knowledge and creative practical skills obtained from field studies in nature, regions, companies, and the world. We will build a curriculum that nurtures and produces.
