 Michiko Aihara, president of Yokohama City University, who was elected as the new president of the Association of Public Universities, was born in 31 and is 67 years old.His research field is dermatology (drug eruption, atopic dermatitis, skin allergy). After graduating from Yokohama City University School of Medicine in 1980, he became a professor of dermatology at Yokohama City University Hospital, an associate hospital director, and a hospital director (corporation). Since 2020, he has served as the president of Yokohama City University (corporation vice president, professor emeritus).

 On becoming the new president, President Aihara said, "By the 5th year of Reiwa, there will be 100 public universities, and while their presence is greatly increasing, I feel the heavy responsibility of being elected president. As a university that walks together, we have made it our mission to be an intellectual and cultural base for the local community, and to train and research the human resources necessary to solve local problems.
