This summer, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies will hold the TUFS Open Academy, an open course for short-term intensive study of languages, cultures, and societies of the world. In 2023, it will be held online only, and courses will be held in languages ​​that are difficult to learn in Japan, such as Czech, Turkish, and Tibetan.

 According to Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, the Open Academy is held every year in three terms: spring, summer, and fall.Spring and autumn are basically long-term courses with classes held once a week, while summer courses are three-day short-term intensive courses divided into three dates during August and September.About 3 people have taken the course each year.

 The 2023 summer season will be held from August 8nd to 22th, from 24th to 29st, and from September 31th to 9th.A total of 5 courses are planned, including 7 courses in 19 languages, including Czech, Turkish, and Tibetan, and 35 liberal arts courses.Language courses are divided into beginner, pre-intermediate, and intermediate and above classes according to the CEFR, which is the standard for evaluating foreign language proficiency.

 The course will be held in real time, just like when you go to school.The video conferencing tool used is "Zoom", and "Google Classroom" is used for communication, distribution of materials, and submission of assignments.A fixed tuition fee is required for each course.You can apply for the course from the online application form on the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies website.Registration will close when the number of participants in the course reaches capacity.

 On July 7th and August 29th, an online course for elementary school students will be held during the summer.There are 8 language and general education courses, and 19 pairs of elementary school students and guardians are scheduled to participate in each schedule.
