Japanese high school students have a passive image of work, and more students than other countries think that they should have enough income to live on. I found out in the high school student awareness survey that I carried out.

The survey will be conducted from September 2022 to January 9 by distributing questionnaires and online. Compare awareness.

As a result, Japanese high school students are highly interested in career-related activities, with more than 8% interested in researching careers, visiting universities and other schools they wish to attend, and gathering information. More than 6% of the respondents answered that they were “interested,” but only about 1% of them had implemented such initiatives, lower than the 3% or more of the other three countries.

Compared to the other three countries, the number of students who have a negative image of work as "for a living" or "a duty as a member of society" is significantly higher than in the other three countries, and the number of students who have an image of "fun" is the lowest among the four countries. .

In choosing a career, the most students in the four countries placed importance on the work environment, stability, and whether it suits their interests and preferences. Among the four countries, the number of students who answered, "I would like to live leisurely if I have enough income to live on" and "I would like to cherish free time such as hobbies rather than work," was the highest among the four countries.
