Toppan Printing Co., Ltd., a major printing company, has started a demonstration experiment of a real-time video transmission system for emergency situations in Sagamihara City in collaboration with Kitasato University, the Sagamihara City Fire Department, and Softbank. If the system is implemented in society, it is expected that more lives can be saved by allowing medical staff to access images of emergency scenes.
According to Toppan Printing, the demonstration experiment will link Toppan Printing's identity verification app, which can confirm the identity and qualifications of medical professionals, and SoftBank's "Visual Mall Visual Talk," which allows communication while viewing images from a smartphone camera. The goal is to build a system that allows medical staff to access on-site images.
The period of the demonstration experiment is until March 2024, 3. Of the emergency cases that were called 15 in Sagamihara City, doctors and nurses from Kitasato University Hospital will be sent to Sagamihara City. In addition to checking the images from the fire department ambulance and caller, we will use the real-time image transmission system to transmit information to other doctors in separate rooms, and evaluate its usefulness.
Toppan Printing, along with Kitasato University and Softbank, used the real-time video transmission system to transmit 1 images in one year, using doctors and nurses from Kitasato University Hospital and doctors' cars at Kitasato University. More than 126% of medical workers felt that it was effective.Based on the results of this demonstration experiment, we will take a step further toward social implementation.
