The Yamada Shintaro D&I Foundation will inform more students, teachers, and parents about the STEM (Science) Women's Scholarship Subsidy, which began recruiting on July 2023, 7, from summer to autumn. For that purpose, we are developing the “STEM (Science) Women’s Scholarship Grant Campaign 6”.
From August 2023th to 8st, 16, as the first step of the campaign, a collaboration project with Yukari Kono, who is an active student of the University of Tokyo medical school and is active in quiz shows, etc., will be held. (Science) Women's Association" campaign.Five high school students who applied for the campaign will be invited to a closed round-table discussion with Mr. Kono on September 31th by lottery.
In modern society where technology such as AI (artificial intelligence) is rapidly advancing, the need to learn STEM fields is increasing.However, in Japan, there are social factors such as expectations of social roles based on gender, a lack of self-esteem due to a perception that science is not good, and a learning environment that makes it difficult for girls to be interested in STEM fields. Compared to students, they tend to need more support and courage when deciding to pursue a STEM field.
Therefore, from 2021, the Shintaro Yamada D&I Foundation will promote an environment where female students can pursue their dreams by providing scholarship grants to support female students who want to pursue their favorite things in the STEM field. .Through the campaign to be launched this time, it is expected that many high school students will take a step towards their dreams in the STEM field, and that society will be more interested in the problems surrounding female students in the STEM field.
