The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has selected 2023 projects for university-to-university exchanges with the United States and other countries, including the University of Tsukuba, as part of the 13 Project to Strengthen Universities' Global Expansion Capabilities.The programs of the selected schools will be certified as having quality assurance, and the projects will be supported from university education revitalization strategy promotion funds.

 According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the project received 18 applications from national, public and private universities across the country, which were reviewed by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science's Global Expansion Capability Program Program Committee, and 13 were selected as successful projects.

 The University of Tsukuba collaborates with The Ohio State University to develop international startup talent, Kanazawa University collaborates with eight schools including the State University of New York at Buffalo to develop next-generation global human resources, and Nagoya University collaborates with nine schools including North Carolina State University to develop cross-disciplinary Japan-U.S. co-creation talent. Hiroshima University will work with three other universities, including the University of Texas at Austin, to develop global human resources who will usher in the era of AI.

 Tokyo University of Foreign Studies promotes STEAM education together with eight schools in the United States, South Korea, and the Philippines, including California State University, Northridge, Tokyo University of the Arts, the University of Southern California, and five schools in the United States and Taiwan, including the University of Hawaii at Hilo, University of the Ryukyus. We will develop human resources for a new era.
