On September 2023, 9, Ibaraki University opened the website for the new educational organization (baccalaureate degree course) ``Academic Circle for Co-creating Regional Futures'' starting in April 22, and published the recruitment requirements.

"Gakukan" is a bachelor's degree program that follows the interfaculty-linked curriculum system stipulated in the University Establishment Standards, etc., and is an educational organization equivalent to a faculty.Upon graduation, students will be awarded a ``Bachelor of Science (Academic)'' degree.Ibaraki University's Regional Future Co-Creation Initiative will conduct learning across disciplines and the arts and sciences, with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Agriculture as collaborative faculties. The admission capacity for this university is 40 students, but the admission capacity for the university as a whole remains unchanged as it has been decided to suspend recruitment for the evening flex course in the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.

A feature of the education in the Department of Regional Future Co-Creation is the return education with co-op training conducted at companies and local governments in Ibaraki Prefecture.Co-op training is an effective educational method for cultivating professional awareness by actually standing in the field at companies, local governments, etc., and practicing and applying the theories learned at university while engaging in work. All affiliated students take co-op training in order to develop their abilities, attitude as a member of society, and community revitalization orientation.Unlike internships, the purpose of this program is to make students aware of their responsibilities through paid co-op training, and to have them engage in work as ``members of the community and organization.''It also provides an opportunity for students to think about their futures, leading to independent career choices. As of April 2023, training sites have been decided at 4 companies and 35 local governments, and they are published on the website.

There are two types of entrance selection for the Regional Future Co-Creation Program: general selection and comprehensive selection. In the comprehensive selection process, candidates will be evaluated through written surveys, interviews, and group activities. For group activities, participants form groups of about 5 people and spend approximately 60 minutes discussing local issues presented, compiling and presenting the results, and then writing an essay reflecting on the group activities in 30 minutes. Also create.Examples of comprehensive selections that involve discussions such as group activities include Kyushu University Faculty of Co-Creation Comprehensive Selection I, Ehime University Faculty of Social Co-creation Comprehensive Selection I, and Tottori University Regional Studies Faculty Comprehensive Selection I.
