The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has earmarked 11 billion yen for the ``High School DX Acceleration Promotion Project (DX High School)'' in the FY10 supplementary budget approved by the Cabinet on November 5th.Approximately 100 public and private high schools will be supported, with a maximum of 1 million yen per school. While efforts are underway to convert faculties into digital, science and mathematics fields at the university education stage, we will strengthen human resource development to support growth fields such as digital at the high school stage as well.
According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, it will implement a curriculum that emphasizes education in information, mathematics, etc., and will provide support for creating the environment necessary to strengthen exploratory learning across the humanities and sciences using ICT.The following examples are given as examples of desired initiatives.
・Promote enrollment in Information II, Mathematics II/B, Mathematics III/C, etc.
(Including the use of distance learning)
・Transition to departments that emphasize information, mathematics, etc., and establishment of courses
(Changing the department to a new general course that focuses on learning across the arts and sciences, establishing courses, etc.)
In addition, examples of support items include ICT equipment maintenance (high-spec PCs, 3D printers, video/image generation software, etc.), communication equipment maintenance including for remote classes, and outsourcing costs such as the dispatch of specialized personnel.
With the aim of increasing the number of people working in growing fields such as digital, we will also provide support to high schools as a measure to increase the number of students entering university faculties and departments in this field.
