In April 2024, Osaka Institute of Technology will open a content business course in the Faculty of Intellectual Property, the only liberal arts faculty specializing in intellectual property among Japanese universities. Furthermore, in April 4, we are planning to establish a clinical engineer training course (tentative name) in the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Biotechnology, and Department of Real World Informatics (tentative name) in the Faculty of Information Science. A demonstration experiment facility "DX Field (tentative name)" is also scheduled to be established.

Osaka Institute of Technology will celebrate its 2022th anniversary in 100, and is a comprehensive science and engineering university with 3 campuses and 4 faculties: the Faculty of Intellectual Property and the Faculty of Engineering on the Omiya Campus, the Faculty of Information Science on the Hirakata Campus, and the Faculty of Robotics and Design Engineering on the Umeda Campus. We are conducting initiatives with an eye toward the next 100 years.

The content business course to be opened at the Faculty of Intellectual Property, which is scheduled to open in April 2024, will focus on games that are becoming increasingly popular both domestically and internationally, as the demand for human resources who can contribute to intellectual property rights and corporate business strategies increases year by year. The aim is to develop human resources who can plan and operate content businesses that produce and provide "copyrighted works" such as movies, anime, and music.

The Department of Bioengineering in the Faculty of Engineering collaborates with Hiroshima International University, the same corporation, to train specialists who will contribute to team medical care by ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical devices. As medical devices continue to become more sophisticated, the clinical engineer training course (tentative name), which is planned to be established in April 2025, will be a clinical engineer with an engineering degree and a strong technical knowledge. Aim for acquisition.

The Faculty of Information Science is planning to open the Department of Real World Informatics (tentative name) in April 2025. Using various IoT sensing technologies and digital technologies, we will acquire real-world situations as data, and train human resources who can solve regional and social issues using information technology such as information analysis and automatic equipment control such as robots. Additionally, with the establishment of the new department, we plan to set up an indoor demonstration experiment facility called DX Field (tentative name) where students can experience cutting-edge drone technology. It will contribute to the development of lifesaving technology by using it as a stage for training and exercises related to drone technology and data science, and by replicating urban areas and disaster sites.

The Faculty of Robotics and Design Engineering plans to launch an "esports" project in April 2025. Equipment will be installed in 4, and student projects will utilize software development, control systems, user interface design, competition area design, etc. for education and research, leading to the acquisition of cutting-edge related technology and knowledge such as digital twins.
