A research group led by Lecturer Keitaro Nakazai of the National College of Technology, Osaka Public University, and Associate Professor Masateru Tsunoda of the Faculty of Informatics, Kindai University, investigated the relationship between turnover and satisfaction among IT engineers and found expectations for the company 10 years from now. It turns out that the key to preventing employees from quitting their jobs is whether or not they have the ability to do so.

The research group conducted a survey of 23 IT engineers working at companies, and found that they answered, ``I am aware of what my company should be 10 years from now'' and ``I have expectations for my future in 10 years.'' We asked respondents about the relationship between outlook indicators and their intention to quit their job. As a result, they are not in a state where they are just doing their daily work, they are aware of what the company should be 10 years from now, they have expectations for the future 10 years from now, and their work goals have been set by their superiors. We found that IT engineers who are employed by the company have a high degree of satisfaction and have low intention to quit their job.

As companies and government offices move toward DX (digital transformation), the shortage of IT engineers is becoming more and more serious. In order to maintain competitiveness, companies need to suppress turnover, the outflow of talented personnel, and the increase in rehiring costs. The research group believes that creating a work environment that increases the satisfaction level of IT engineers is essential to reducing turnover.
