The Osaka Public University Botanical Garden has surveyed the varieties of cherry trees planted at the Sugimoto Campus in Sumiyoshi Ward, Osaka City, the Nakamozu Campus in Naka Ward, Sakai City, and the Botanical Gardens in Katano City, Osaka Prefecture, and there are a total of 96 species. It was confirmed. Eight species of cherry blossoms have been discovered. This is said to be one of the largest numbers among universities in Japan.
According to the Osaka Public University Botanical Garden, 14 types of cherry blossoms have been confirmed at the Sugimoto campus, 51 at the Nakamozu campus, and 75 at the attached botanical garden. ``Ukon,'' which blooms with pale yellow flowers in mid-April, and ``Gyoko,'' which blooms with green flowers in late April, can be seen at the Nakamozu campus and attached botanical garden.
Ten species of wild cherry blossoms have been confirmed in Japan, but eight species, excluding Takane-zakura and Miyama-zakura, have been planted on campus at Osaka Public University. It was getting worse.
"Edo Higan" and "Mamezakura", "Yamazakura" are at Sugimoto Campus, Nakamozu Campus, Attached Botanical Garden, "Oshimazakura" and "Kasumizakura" are at Nakamozu Campus, Attached Botanical Garden, "Kumanozakura" and "Chojizakura" can be seen on the Sugimoto campus and in the attached botanical garden, and ``Oyama cherry blossoms'' can be seen on the Sugimoto campus. In the future, we plan to sequentially investigate and confirm the Abeno, Rinku, and Habikino campuses, which were not included in this survey.
