Quacquarelli Simmons (QS *), a higher education evaluation institution, has announced the 2019 QS World University Rankings by subject.
2019年版科目別QS世界大学ランキングは、78ヶ国・1,200校以上の大学を対象に、48科目・5学問領域について順位付けしたもの。125万件以上の学術調査に回答した83,000人以上の学術関係者の評価、199,123件の雇用主調査に回答した42,000社以上の雇用主の評価、2,200万件の学術論文を基に約1億500千万件の引用が蓄積されているエルゼビア社Scopusデータベースからの調査結果をもとに作成された。
In the 2019 edition, 48 Japanese universities and 395 subjects are ranked in. Compared to 2018, 126 subjects were ranked down and 71 subjects were ranked up.The number of Japanese faculties in the top 20 is 20 and it is the 10th in the world. The first place was 1 faculties in the United States, and the second place was 410 faculties in the United Kingdom.Looking at the Asian region, it was overtaken by China and Hong Kong, and ranked down from 2nd place in Asia to 196th place in Asia after Singapore.
In addition, Japanese universities ranked in the top 10 by subject in 3 subjects.He was 8th in Modern Languages at the University of Tokyo, 10th in Physics & Astronomy, and 10th in Dentistry at Tokyo Medical and Dental University.The University of Tokyo ranked 48 out of 40 subjects and maintained one of the best comprehensive universities in Asia, but 25 subjects were down or up from 2018, and only 7 subjects were up.
* QS has announced the QS World University Rankings every year since 2004, and is most widely used for university evaluation. In 2018, there were more than 3,700 million accesses in the world university rankings by subject and more than 7,300 million in the world university rankings.
