Saitama Institute of Technology fully supports the "DEEP VALLEY Accumulation Declaration" announced by Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture on June 2019, 6, aiming for "fusion of agriculture and cutting-edge technology."He announced his policy to utilize and support the university's education and research system.
While Fukaya City is working to promote the agricultural region, shipments of agricultural products are large in the Tokyo metropolitan area, including the famous Fukaya Negi, and agriculture and food manufacturing are the core industries of the region.Taking advantage of Fukaya City's industrial strengths, we aim to concentrate Agritech (agriculture x manufacturing / IT) related companies, solve agricultural problems, improve agricultural productivity, and realize "profitable agriculture". "Agritech Accumulation Strategy" was formulated.
In this Agritech concept, Saitama Institute of Technology will provide support utilizing academic knowledge from technology and management experts in agriculture and food, use of university research facilities, student participation, construction of industry-academia-government collaboration, etc. We will provide support utilizing various resources of the university.For the time being, we plan to cooperate with the holding of the Agritech Business Contest "DEEP VALLEY Agritech Award 2019" to be held in the fall of 2019, and the holding of seminars and lectures related to agricultural issues and agritech.In the future, we plan to gradually promote necessary cooperation in response to the development of the Agritech business, such as considering the establishment of the Agritech Research Institute (tentative name) with related parties.
