Bunkyo Gakuin University Faculty of Foreign Studies Watanabe Seminar students demonstrated the usefulness of krill as an unused resource and made it a menu at restaurants in order to raise awareness as an edible product.

 Seven third-year students of the Watanabe seminar, led by Associate Professor Yoshiaki Watanabe of the Faculty of Foreign Studies, conducted research to solve the "food crisis" problem.When comparing and examining insects and chlorella as new unused resources, the unused resources are "3. abundant resources", "7. cheap", and "1. high nutritional value". I thought that three conditions were necessary.Therefore, we focused on the marine resource "krill" that meets these conditions and is unique to Japan, a maritime nation.

 Krill, known as fishing bait, has a large amount of resources, and research on its edible use is progressing in each country.It has high nutritional value, contains omega 3 fatty acids, and krill oil extracted from krill is used as a supplement, and also has an antioxidant effect, which is said to be useful for anti-aging and recovery from fatigue.

 Therefore, in order to demonstrate the usefulness of krill and raise awareness, for a limited time, "Sake Bar & Cafe Sakanoshita Noorize Nezu" in Bunkyo Ward, Italian restaurant "Ciao !! centro", "Vietnam Bistro Vang field", "Omotesando student" With the cooperation of "Harumaki Club" and 4 stores, we decided to offer the original menu of krill.

 At "Sakanoshita Noorize Nezu", you can enjoy the aroma of potato mochi and krill. "Okiami x Imomochi" and "Okiami x Rice Noodles", and at "Ciao !! , "Vietnam Bistro Vang field" offers "Pap Sao", "Omotesando Nama Harumaki Club" offers "Krill Tofu Rice". "Mapo tofu rice" has been a continuous menu even after the offer period, and "Power salad" has been well received such as ordering 2 dishes in 6 days, so the store is considering continuing the menu. It is said that it is.

 Students will explore the possibilities of krill through interviews and questionnaire surveys with krill processing companies and other related parties, and through seminar activities, they will have the ability to step forward, think through, and work as a team.
