From April 2020, Setsunan University will open the only Faculty of Agriculture in Osaka Prefecture on the Hirakata Campus.We aim to develop human resources who have knowledge and skills related to "food" and "agriculture" from a global perspective and can work on discovering and solving social issues.In addition, in the "Food and Agriculture Business Department", which is a field of fusion of literature and science, you can learn a wide range of knowledge from knowledge and skills related to agriculture to economics, management, and marketing.
The number of companies entering the fields of "food" and "agriculture" has increased more than 10 times in the past 15 years.Especially in the domestic smart agricultural market, it is predicted that the growth will be about four times in the next 6 years, and the growth of the “food” and “agriculture” fields is expected to accelerate in the future.
Setsunan University Faculty of Agriculture will take advantage of the location of the Hirakata Campus, which is located between Osaka and Kyoto, to enhance off-campus learning.Also, in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Nursing on the same campus, we will promote joint classes and joint research on "food, biotechnology, nutrition, medical care, and health" as a life science campus.
Furthermore, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Technology of the same university, the Faculty of Information Science of Osaka Institute of Technology, and the Faculty of Robotics & Design Engineering, which are affiliated with the same university, we will work on research in the advanced agricultural field utilizing AI, ICT, and IoT technologies.In collaboration with companies, we are also developing new functional foods and processed foods, and developing biotechnology utilizing advanced technologies such as genome editing.We will promote detailed education and research by experienced full-time faculty members, including experts in the food and agriculture business field.
農学部初となる一般入試前期A日程の試験日は、2020年2月2日・3日。出願を2019年12月25日～2020年1月22日の期間で受け付けている。
