The Institute of Industrial Efficiency University conducted a questionnaire targeting new employees who became members of society in 2020, and investigated the use of the telework system, staggered work, motivation for learning, and acceptable overtime hours.The survey has been conducted since 1990, and this is the 31st time.
The survey was conducted at a face-to-face seminar every year, but in 2020, it will be conducted at an online seminar to prevent infection with the new coronavirus.As a result, the number of responses in 2019 decreased significantly from 429 to 79.
In the questionnaire, we asked about the intention to use these systems as the movement to recognize telework, staggered commuting, and side jobs, which are attracting attention as work style reforms, is expanding.As a result, if there is a telework system, "I want to use" was 60.8%, a significant increase of 2019 points compared to FY25.6.Furthermore, when combined with 24.1% of "I would rather use it", 84.9% answered "I want to use it".
Regarding staggered commuting, 75.9% answered that they would like to use it, an increase of 2019 points compared to FY22.1.Furthermore, when combined with "I would rather use it," 93.6% said they would like to use it. In fiscal 2020, telework and staggered commuting spread, especially as a measure to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, and it can be seen that the interest of new employees in these has increased.
When asked if they would like to study for seminars, distance learning, school, self-study, etc. outside of business hours, 20.5% said that they would like to study at their own expense, an increase of 6.9 points from the previous year.In addition, "I want to study if there is some support from the company" was 38.5%, an increase of 5.8 points.In total, 59.0% of new employees (up 12.7 points from the previous year) said they would like to study at their own expense, and their positive attitude toward learning is increasing.
