As a measure to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, Saitama Institute of Technology has been using Zoom for real-time two-way communication from the site of an automatic driving demonstration experiment conducted in the Haneda Airport area for graduation research seminar students. "Running Online Seminar" was held in October 2020.
Saitama Institute of Technology, as a participating organization of the second phase of the Strategic Innovation Creation Program (SIP) "Automated Driving (Expansion of Systems and Services)", will conduct the second demonstration experiment in 2 in the Haneda Airport area on October 2020st. It was carried out for a total of 2 days.
The "Running Online Seminar" was held by Professor Daishi Watanabe, Director of the Center for Automated Driving Technology Development, Saitama Institute of Technology, for about two hours for fourth-year students in the Image Recognition Engineering Laboratory of the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Engineering.Professor Watanabe explains the driving situation to students through his notebook PC while live broadcasting from the inside of the car running in the demonstration experiment of autonomous driving.The students were instructed remotely as a living teaching material on the real situation of the field of the demonstration experiment.
Students who participated from their homes and laboratories watched the live video of the driving, and shared research materials such as the purpose and tasks of the experiment on Zoom and received explanations.In addition, students can participate interactively online by sending comments such as ideas, suggestions, and questions about experimental problem-solving through chat.In this lecture, a demonstration experiment was conducted with due consideration for safety.
