Foster human resources who can apply AI to business
The goal of the AI / business major newly established by Reitaku University is to develop "AI business planners" who can apply AI technology to fields such as business and finance.It is expected that there will be a chronic shortage of IT engineers in Japan in the near future, but in order to deal with social problems such as the declining birthrate and aging population and the declining population, we will develop human resources who can propose solutions that make full use of AI. Is indispensable at the university. Focusing on developing human resources with middle-class skills who can think about how to incorporate AI into society and apply it to business, rather than high-end engineers who research and develop AI technology itself. It is a feature of this AI / business major that it is set.In particular, the university predicts that such human resources called AI business planners will be required in the future in the statistical analysis of companies, marketing departments, financial institutions, IT-related companies, and so on.
In the AI / Business major, we aim to acquire knowledge that can understand and apply the principles of machine learning, which is one of the means to realize AI, through basic subjects such as mathematics, statistics, and programming.At the same time, we will also hold a lecture "Introduction to AI Business" inviting prominent researchers and managers who are applying AI to the business field in the real world to promote understanding of issues to keep in mind when learning AI.
In addition, the curriculum related to accounting and English, which the university has traditionally emphasized, will be further enhanced.By the time students graduate, their goal is to achieve "double qualification" in which they acquire two qualifications related to IT and AI and financial qualifications.In order to acquire qualifications, we will actively provide support from senior students who have already acquired qualifications and guidance outside class hours by faculty members.
The AI Business Research Center, which was established in September 2019 prior to the start of the AI / Business major, will engage in applied research in cooperation with not only university researchers but also researchers and business people from companies. At the same time, we are aiming to develop an AI / data science education program for human resource development in line with the new era.In addition, it seems that we will actively incorporate various R & D through industry-academia collaboration and PBL (problem-based learning) learning that allows students to experience internships at the company to which the researcher belongs.
