Gunma University has set up the "Next Generation Mobility Society Implementation Research Center" on campus with the aim of forming a base for industry-academia-government collaboration innovation that will help realize a fully autonomous driving society and promote the next-generation automobile industry.It has already conducted a public road demonstration experiment in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, and will also develop public road demonstration experiments in various places around Gunma Prefecture in the future.It is said that it will contribute to the development of transportation infrastructure of local governments, the development of transportation systems that respond to the urgent administrative issues of depopulation and aging, and the solution of problems.
Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Co., Ltd. is currently releasing the "Automated Driving Demonstration Experiment Comprehensive Compensation Plan" that compensates for the risks surrounding the demonstration experiment of autonomous vehicles.On the other hand, a laboratory with the company name was set up in Gunma University in preparation for the emergence of new risks and accident types.Through technological development and demonstration experiments of self-driving cars, the company plans to promote joint research toward the development of dedicated insurance and the construction of damage investigation methods related to accidents.
