The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has selected four universities, Tokyo Gakugei University, Fukui University, Osaka Kyoiku University, and Hyogo University of Teacher Education, as the flagship universities for teacher training that will play a leading role in changing the way teacher training should be. The four schools will develop programs with the aim of training teachers who will support a variety of children and students and support independent learning.
According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Flagship University for Teacher Training was established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology with the aim of leading the training of teachers who will be responsible for "Japanese-style education in Reiwa."There were a total of 15 applications, including one from 2 teacher training universities nationwide, including one joint proposal by two schools, and as a result of examination by a meeting of experts, four schools were selected.
Tokyo Gakugei University aims at school education in which children create a new society together with teachers, builds a function to make proposals for system improvement centered on the Advanced Education Human Resources Development Promotion Organization, and promotes the development of leading programs.
The University of Fukui will develop a training training curriculum to develop teachers who support independent, interactive and deep learning, and will build a collaborative network in which schools, boards of education, communities and universities form a scrum.
Based on the Osaka Advanced Learning Center, which will be established together with Osaka City, Osaka University of Education will lead the Japanese-style education of Reiwa by fostering teachers who can be close to each child and student while respecting diversity.
Hyogo University of Teacher Education will develop a teacher training program to foster autonomous learners and create next-generation learning that will enable children and students to collaborate with diverse humans to achieve personal and social well-being.
