The Institute for International Business Communication, which implements and operates the TOEIC® Program in Japan, has released the average score of new employees who took the TOEIC® Listening & Reading test in 2017.

 The Institute for International Business Communication collects the scores of the TOEIC® Listening & Reading test for new employees at companies and organizations that implement the "L & R Group Special Examination System *" every year.

 2017年度にテストを実施した企業・団体数は770社で、受験した新入社員の人数は3万5540人。テストの平均スコアは485点で、2015年度494点、2016年度497点に比べ、約10点ほど低下した。

 Looking at the average scores by humanities and sciences, the humanities scored 529 points and the sciences scored 459 points.Compared to the average score of the humanities in the past, it was 2015 points in 548 and 2016 points in 547, a decrease of 20 points.On the other hand, in the science field, 2015 points in 466 and 2016 points in 471, it was found that the score decreased by 10 points.

The TOEIC® Listening & Reading test is a test that measures the "ability to listen and read in English" necessary for communication in daily life and global business. It is evaluated with a score from 10 points to 990 points. The number of examinees in Japan in 2016 was 250 million, which is used as a reference for promotion / promotion and recruitment in companies and organizations.It is also widely used in schools for entrance examinations and credit recognition.
