Kanagawa University reopened the university library on April 2022, 4. As part of the future plan for the 5th anniversary, it was completely renovated in the 100th anniversary commemorative project, and seismic retrofitting and full renovation were carried out while maintaining the beautiful brick-like appearance suitable for the port city of Yokohama.

 The Kanagawa University Library boasts a collection of more than 150 million books, which is one of the largest in the prefecture, and is used by about 40 people annually.Normally, it is open to the public and can be used not only by students but also by citizens, and more than 600 people are registered as members (currently, the use is restricted to those involved in the university as a measure against infectious diseases).

 The renewed library is located in the center of the 21st century comprehensive academic center campus that supports active learning and PBL (problem-based learning), and serves as an open learning place that is easy for students to access.

 In the hall, we have set up a space that can be freely selected and used according to the learning style of students, and introduced the latest services such as rental and seat reservation by smartphone application in order to make business IT.We have enhanced electronic resources and improved remote access from home and overseas.The materials for Yokohama and Kanagawa have also been enhanced.

 All staff are qualified librarians.We have a library staff in charge of the faculty, and we have established a system that can handle the collection and utilization of materials from students to faculty members with expertise, and utilize academic materials in classrooms, laboratories, learning spaces other than libraries, etc. to support.
