In April 2018, Otemon Gakuin University will progressively integrate the existing Graduate School of Economics and Graduate School of Business Administration to open the Graduate School of Business Administration and Economics.In the master's program, a research area specializing in university management will be established for the first time in Japan so that a master's degree (university management) can be obtained.
According to Otemon Gakuin University, the master's program at the Graduate School of Business and Economics has a capacity of 15 people.There will be a management course consisting of four research areas of corporate legal affairs, accounting / management information, business, and university management, and an economic course consisting of two research areas of economics and regional policy.
The doctoral program has a capacity of 3 people.He has five research areas: corporate legal affairs, accounting / management information, business, economy, and regional policy.
Although there are some similar examples in which research areas specializing in university management are positioned in pedagogy, this is the first graduate school in Japan to obtain a balance degree in the field of business administration.
A ministerial ordinance to partially revise the university establishment standards will come into effect in April, and all universities will be provided with training opportunities for staff to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for university management and to improve their abilities and qualities. The need for education and research related to university management has increased.In response to this, Otemon Gakuin University is aiming to become a training base for advanced university management professionals.
