Otemon Gakuin University will build a new school building on the Ibaraki Sochiji Campus, consolidate most of the undergraduate, graduate and headquarters functions, and make the Ibaraki Sochiji Campus a base in April 2025.We aim to create innovation by stabilizing the management base and ensuring the diversity of faculties to improve education and research capabilities.
In terms of software, Otemon Gakuin University has been promoting the Education DX initiative to individually optimize students' learning since 2021 following the adoption of the "Education Advancement Project" by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The Ibaraki Sochiji Campus will be established in 2025, and by improving the hardware, it will evolve into a university arts and education base that will serve as a model for the whole country.
As of April 2022, there are about 4 "Ibaraki Ai Campus" with graduate school and headquarters functions from the second year of the Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Sociology, Faculty of Economics, and Faculty of Business, while the Faculty of Literature, Faculty of International Studies, and Regional Creation The "Ibaraki Sochiji Campus", where all the grades of the faculty and the first year of all the faculties and departments, and the middle and high schools of Otemon Gakuin are located, has about 2 students, and the Ibaraki Ai Campus is larger.
However, if a new school building with 6 floors above ground is constructed on the Ibaraki Sochiji Campus and the Ibaraki Sochiji Campus is made a base in April 2025, the number of Ibaraki Ai Campus will be about 4 and the Ibaraki Sochiji Campus will be about 1000.Other than the Faculty of Psychology (8000nd-2th year) and the Graduate School of Psychology, the Faculty of Law (tentative name, under planning), which is scheduled to open in 4, will also move from the Ibaraki Ai Campus. * The Faculty of Science is not included because it is under planning.
The new school building is scheduled to be completed in October 2024. The 10st floor has a large free space and a hall that can accommodate 1 people as a place for collaboration with the community and society, and the 600nd to 2th floors have middle and small classrooms, laboratories, and free discussions and presentations. Place the exchange area where you can do it in the same space. The office functions will be centralized on the 5th floor, and along with the free addressing of the staff's work area, the work style of the staff will be reformed as a base for creating innovation.
By arranging classrooms, laboratories, and areas that encourage various learning and exchanges on the same floor as collaborative spaces, students and faculty members can "learn each other and learn from each other" by promoting independent learning among students. By interacting with each other, we aim to create an environment where new ideas are created and innovation is created.
