At present, with the progress of the super-aging society, the necessity of improving the quality of life by maintaining oral function for a lifetime and the importance of community-based comprehensive care are attracting attention.In Japan, we are working on cooperation with local medical / insurance / welfare institutions and specialized hospitals based on the "family doctor" system, but comprehensive cooperation including medical information is especially in the field of dentistry. Until now, there was not enough framework.
Therefore, Osaka University will realize a new generation of "promotion of oral health" that includes advanced information data analysis by AI utilizing the latest ICT technology and sharing of information such as hospital data and doctor's knowledge. Established a new framework called the S2DH concept. Based on NEC's supercomputing technology, we aim to realize a comprehensive regional oral health information service using AI technology developed at Osaka University.
In this concept, safe and effective treatment methods are strategically derived by AI analysis based on data at the clinical site of the Faculty of Dentistry Hospital, and treatment options are provided to patients.In addition, the Cybermedia Center will play a role as an ICT service provider that makes use of the dental care know-how accumulated at the Dental Hospital in the community.Through this, Osaka University as a whole will propose comprehensive treatment methods that better match the tastes of patients, and aim to contribute to the maintenance of daily oral health, such as early detection of abnormalities that are possible at home.
The three parties have already begun concrete efforts.At the Faculty of Dentistry Hospital, AI is used in the three areas of orthodontics, tongue mucosal lesions, and tooth loss, and at Cybermedia Center, research and development of secure staging for high-speed processing of hospital data at the computer center is being conducted by NEC. We are proceeding with.Based on these, we plan to start a demonstration experiment focusing on the construction of periodontal disease AI and general dental AI from FY3.
